"He will laugh"
One of the reasons Dan and I chose the name Isaac was because of this translation. Laughter has such power to heal, strengthen, and bridge. It has certainly been one of the best forces in our marriage and I am so grateful for a husband who I can laugh with often...in the good times and bad.
In his first year Isaac has lived up to his namesake. For those of you who have met him you know, he truly is a sweet boy, joyful and happy. He has been such a blessing to us this year. As the four of us danced tonight to celebrate his birthday I thought about how hard it is to imagine our lives without him.
As a growing 12 month old he is now 'speed crawling', cruising, using push toys to walk, climbing stairs, and standing on his own. His favorite things to do are push cars and trucks, open and close piles of books, play peek-a-boo with Cora, dance to music, and roll balls. He gets excited about seeing animals, especially dogs. He loves to say 'da-da' when Dan comes into the room. He also says 'ba' for ball and bath. Occasionally we hear a 'ra-ra' for Cora and a 'ma-ba' for me. He likes to try and brush his hair, put on hats, and talk on the phone. One of my favorite things about him is that he loves to snuggle. He crawls over while playing to put his head on my lap and loves to rock before bed with his head on my shoulder(of course in these moments I want time to be still).
Happy Birthday my darling boy!
