New role for an old toy...Isaac's turn!

Cora & Isaac, Nov. 2010

Cora, March 2008

Isaac's first Thanksgiving

We had a fun, relaxing, and yummy trip to Cleveland to see Uncle Matt, Aunt Nicole, and Ella. We also had a couple fun visits with the Haselden's and Nana.

Uncle Matt & Dan conducted a successful experiment with an infrared turkey frier (moist and delicious...and no hot oil)

There were tears as Ella and Cora said goodbye and lots of questions on the way home as to when they could be together again. Friends & cousins...the best!

Isaac-9 months

9 months? So hard to believe the weather is cooling and we are approaching the season of Isaac's birth!
He remains an incredibly sweet, fun-loving baby. He is really on the move now, crawling and pulling up. He is quick and sneaky and keeps us on our toes. He is a giggler and ticklish. Its hard to keep him still, so reading books and changing diapers are a challenge; although he is starting to laugh at pictures of animals...or the sounds I make when I show them to him. He loves people and is always flashing a smile and getting someone's attention. He likes to put his "hands-up", play with balls (just starting to get the idea of sending it back), see dogs and birds, dance (bounce) and of course watch his big sister. He also wants to feed himself, so we eat naked or change in the high chair...bibs are no match for this kid! One of my favorite things about Isaac right now is how excited he gets to see Dan. Such a love!

First Day

Today was the first day of school! We've spent all summer looking forward to "3 year-old school" and now its here! I've never been more excited for you. I love the school you are attending: Resurrection Children's Center. Your teachers, Lois and Missy (and everyone else that works there), are so warm and friendly. I feel like they already love you. This makes me so happy and just a little more at ease leaving you. I'm already so proud of you and know that you will do and learn so much. I hope you love school now, and always...it can be such a great place.

As big as today seemed it is tomorrow and the days after I am most looking forward too; hearing about your new friends, the activities you do, and how each day you will learn more about life and yourself. Please always remember how much your dad and I love you, be kind to others, and jump in with both feet each day! You already amaze me.

For the memory books:
Impressing myself, we were all fed, dressed, and ready to leave early this morning. Brother even got a nap! I'm sure every morning will not go this smoothly but I'm glad we got off on the right foot. Jameson was getting in his car as we left the house. I'm so glad I got a picture of you two hugging. You've already learned so much from each other it seems appropriate that you would start this adventure together. When we got to school we took more pictures and met up with Ilona and Maryanna. Although you have several friends at school you don't know anyone in your class very well yet. Lois greeted you at the door and Missy welcomed you into the room. I watched for just a moment at the door as you played quietly at the sand table. I thought about you the whole time you were at school even though I had a meeting and tried to entertain Isaac at the library (he wanted to pull all the books off the shelves). We picked out some new books and DVDs for you. I called Grandma and Aunt Anna just to talk about you. When we arrived to pick you up you were running around on the playground. Lois said you had a really great first day. I watched you line up and walk inside, you looked so grown-up but my heart thinks of you as my baby. You told me your favorite thing of the day stats with the letter 'P', playdough! I love you Cora.
